Oak Tree Studios, Friday May 14
We had a great experience in Nashville on Friday at Oak Tree! We are moving right along on our new worship project! I can't wait for everyone to hear it. Here is a photo of us in the vocal booth laying down rough tracks. We also had our picture taken with their Grammy and their Dove award. We have to get use to holding them for the future... prophetically speaking!
Please continue to be in prayer about how you can help us out with this project. If you are interested in donating toward this cause, you can use give via PayPal using the following email address: donate@wolministry.org.
Tracking at the Studio
Tomorrow April and I will be heading to Nashville to track for our upcoming worship album. I am so excited! For those of you who don't know, we are working with producers Paul and Tre' Corley at Oak Tree Productions. www.oaktreestudio.com. They are great guys and very ministry minded... a perfect fit for what God has called April and me to. Thank you to everyone who has given us financial support to help make this happen! We are well on our way, but we still have quite a journey ahead.
Collective Soul - Simply Fantastic!
I've been listening to this band forever it seems! And they simply keep getting better! (The new song is simply amazing, by the way!) I was amazed when I first heard the song "Shine" on MTV... back when MTV use to actually play music! In my eyes, they were the greatest thing (I have to say this) since sliced bread! I would listen to these songs and try my best to emulate every chord and tone. I must say, though, that I don't even compare in my ability, but this band has definitely been an influence to me and my music and writing style.
Life as I've known it from Friday until now!
Well, my weekend was great! Friday night in Nashville was a lot of fun! Yes, it took me a while to get up the nerve to dance, but, hey, I did it! Not well, but I did it!
April and I spent Saturday just hanging out in Nashville, eating barbecue, and acting like tourists. That night I went with my mother to a benefit concert with The Forester Sisters. Girls, if you read this... you need to do that more often! You have not lost your touch! Country music still needs you!!!
Nashville Tonight!
May has been a busy month!
April and I will be going to Nashville tonight to celebrate our friend Brent Young's birthday! It's a Studio 54/sexy 70's party... I am a horrible dancer! I'm glad April loves me, she will be so embarrassed! lol! Anyway, I'm looking forward to it. It's not often that she and I get to spend a lot of time together without Alyviah. She's an awesome blessing, but she's also a little handful!
Well, work is calling... BE blessed!
Working late again...
This has been all too common this week. Although, it's better than not working at all. I'm a bit new at this blogging thing. I don't really think I have a lot to say, but thought I should probably jump on the bandwagon. My goal is to write often... we'll see! The content could vary as I am a little eclectic in my interests. However, it will probably stay true to the things I value most - my family, worship, design, songwriting, all the arts in general, and God's influence in and of it all. Well, like I said, I am suppose to be working...
